Our team loves keeping the fun in fundraising, especially by hosting events to share with our amazing supporters. Last Sunday morning dawned bright and sunny. No, wait, it was a rainy morning as usual, but that did not stop lots of wonderful dogs and their families from turning out to support the Helping Hands for Nepal Fun Dog Show.

With ten classes all sponsored by local businesses, the Dog Grand National, a tombola and shopping with local stalls there was lots to do, with homemade cake and a delicious BBQ to keep everyone going.

The team at Galtres Vets are a long-term supporter of Helping Hands. The class they chose to sponsor this year, the Dog that the Judge Would Most Like to Take Home, was won by a beautiful Sprocker called Charlie.

The busiest classes were sponsored by local businesses Margo’s Dog Grooming and Pooch Patch and the judge certainly had a challenge with so many gorgeous doggies to choose from. Let MeOut chose to sponsor the Best Trick, which was won by a clever Cocker Spaniel, Peggy/ Another clever Cocker, Willow, took the pCorize in the Derrings Boarding Kennels Fancy Dress.

Sponsored by Local Business

Several young handlers entered the Hambleton Hills Cattery Child Handler class, with Eliza and Polly the Collie taking first place. Rob and Oatis took home the prize for the Dog that Looks Most Like its Owner, winning prizes sponsored by Chelsea’s Country Crafts. With two dogs of their own, Little Black Whippet sponsored Best Veteran and was also on hand for retail therapy with their beautiful lampshades and homewares.

The Championship class was generously sponsored by the local feed store, Toft Lodge Feeds. With all the days first-placed doggies in the ring, the judge did an amazing job of choosing Bonny, winner of Best Puppy, aptly sponsored by Little Paws York.

With your support, we raised a fantastic £520 on the day. This will go a long way towards helping us to improve healthcare and education for children in rural Nepal.

Thank you!

We want to say a MASSIVE thank you to everyone who braved the weather to join us and, of course, all our class sponsors.
